India To Watch Wherein they featured a handful of Indian scientists that are
breaking new ground in space, biomedical science, pharmaceuticals and beyond.

 Dr. Srivari Chandrasekhar has made significant contributions in diverse areas of organic chemistry
especially in chiral chemistry and total synthesis of biologically active natural products (marine
natural products with architectural complexity).
 The development of PEG as a novel solvent medium created a totally different platform for
practitioners of Green chemistry.
 Development of new methodologies for C-C bond formation reactions involving organo-catalysis
and organo-metallic reagents is highly cited.
 He has 320 publications and 22 patents with over ~10000 citations.
 85 students have already obtained their Ph.D. award under his able guidance and 10 students are
currently pursuing their research work with Dr. S. Chandrasekhar.

 He has been selected for the Astra Zeneca Research Endowment Award for the year 2019.
 He is recipient of Infosys Prize 2014 for Physical Sciences, CNR Rao National Prize in Chemical
Research 2012, SASTRA-CNR Rao award for excellence in Material and Chemistry in 2017,
Goyal Prize in Chemical Sciences 2017 and VASVIK Award 2018 for Chemical Sciences and
Technology.
 He received Sir C V Raman Birth Centenary Award for 2018.
 He is a recipient of the National Academy of Sciences-Reliance platinum jubilee award in physical
sciences for work on innovations in applied research with fundamental approach.
 He has been awarded the Ranbaxy Research award in Pharmaceutical Sciences-2009 for his
contributions to total synthesis of natural products and medicinal chemistry.
 He is a fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences, Indian National Science Academy and National

During my PhD at UCL Interaction Centre and the Global Disability Innovation Hub, I designed and developed a new tactile display technology for making refreshable Braille and tactile graphics affordable and accessible to people with visual impairments. Prior to the PhD, I was a Guest Faculty at the Department of Design, IIT Delhi, where I taught manufacturing and mentored product design and prototyping projects. In my Masters thesis at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at TU Delft, I designed and prototyped a new concept of a soft lower limb exoskeleton. My current project focuses on creating an enabling the ecosystem for assistive technology design and development so new innovations reach people who are in need of solutions to everyday challenges.

Dr..Pawan Prasad is an established R&D leader with over 16 years of experience specializing in Computer Vision, Computational Imaging, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). His career has been defined by significant contributions to the development and commercialization of innovative imaging technologies, particularly in the areas of mobile cameras and extended reality (XR) systems. Prasad has been at the forefront of solving complex computer vision challenges, including low-light imaging, high-dynamic range (HDr.) imaging, super-resolution zoom, and reflection removal. These advancements have greatly enhanced the visual capabilities of mobile devices. Additionally, his work on hand tracking for XR interactions and vision perception technologies for XR underscores his expertise in creating seamless, immersive experiences. In the automotive sector, he has contributed to AI-Dr.iven vision systems for autonomous Driving, developing solutions such as pedestrian detection and lane departure warning using Texas Instruments' Embedded Vision Engine.


Pawan Prasad holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) MaDr.as, where he achieved top academic honours and consistently demonstrated excellence in his research. His academic work laid the foundation for his contributions to both the industrial and research communities. He has authored over 20 papers in leading journals and conferences such as ICCV (International Conference on Computer Vision), ICASSP, WACV, and ACMMM, etc establishing him as a thought leader in the field. Additionally, Pawan holds more than 25 patents, underlining his commitment to innovation. His achievements have been recognized by multiple prestigious awards, including the most recent Nasscom AI Gamechanger Award for 2024, which highlights his pioneering contributions to AI research in India. He serves as a regular reviewer for several well-known conferences, including CVPR, ICC,V ECCV, ACCV, AAAI, WACV, etc.



Currently, Pawan Prasad leads R&D efforts at Samsung R&D Institute India, where he continues to Dr.ive advancements in computer vision and AI technologies for mobile and XR solutions. His excellence in research has been recognized with multiple awards, including Samsung's Excellence and Best Research Paper Awards. Pawan Prasad has delivered invited talks at prominent events such as the XR Summit at IIT MaDr.as, where he shared his insights on 3D vision perception and articulated body tracking - key areas that are revolutionizing immersive technologies. Through his pioneering work, Pawan Prasad remains a key figure shaping the future of computer vision and AI across industries.
